Rice producer and distributor
S andun Food Manufacturers is a well-known manufacturer and distributor of rice and spices based in Vavbedi Kingdom, Sri Lanka. Established in the year 1998 and located in Polonnaruwa Gallella area. We are engaged in milling, processing and supplying round the clock the finest quality of raw, steamed and golden rice in various forms. Sandalwood Food Manufacturers is a government approved company with ISO 22000:2003 SLS 913 :1991 certificates.
We have a well-equipped sanitary rice mill with a final production capacity of 200 MT per day/ 2 000 MT per month with 03 automatic production units. The units consist of advanced processing, quality control, packaging and storage units that work in close coordination to meet the growing needs of our customers worldwide.
We also have an excellent storage facility of 25,000 metric tons, which allows us to store rice in high quantities and under hygienic conditions, which further helps us in delivering the stock on time. Ensuring the best quality of each grain with the aim of customer satisfaction, we carry out rigorous quality checks and ensure that they conform to international standards.

Chemical Composition of Milled Rice
Rice at 12% moisture contains approximately 80% starch and 7% protein. (Currey, 1984) Starch occurs in the endosperm as small many-sided granules while protein is present as particles that lie between the starch granules. Rice grain also contains sugars, fat, dietary fiber, and minerals.
